Executive Bios — Don T. Scartz
Don T. Scartz serves as senior financial advisor, where he provides strategic counsel to the Chairman, CEO and CFO with respect to EMS's financial affairs, including assistance with its commercial and investment banking relationships, strategic financial initiatives, and potential acquisitions or other strategic transactions.
In May 2008, Scartz retired from EMS after a distinguished 30-year career. He most recently served as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, with responsibility for the financial affairs of the company, including strategic acquisitions and institutional investor relations, as well as identifying and securing capital to fund new products and broadband initiatives.
In his career, Scartz has helped EMS grow from less than $4 million in revenues in 1978 to more than $300 million expected for 2008. At the time of his retirement, EMS had achieved the strongest financial position in its 40-year history.
Scartz has been an EMS executive vice president since February 2003 and CFO since 1995. He joined the Company as Controller in 1978, and became Treasurer in 1981. Scartz also served as EMS’s vice president-finance from 1981 to 1995. That year, he was appointed senior vice president.
Scartz has a Bachelor of Science of Business Administration from Florida State University.
